As a main reference book, we list
"Elementary theory of L-functions and Eisenstein series" (LMSST No. 26, 1993).

Topics: I would touch the following topics in this course:

• p-adic analytic family of modular forms;
• Cohomology theory related to modular forms and Eichler-Shimura isomorphisms of higher weight;
• p-adic measure theory via polynomial functions;
  
• Construction of analytic $p$-adic $L$-functions taking analytic families into account.

Prerequisite:
Good understanding of commutative and non-commutative algebra, algebraic number theory and the material in my lecture notes in the previous winter quarter 205c 205c lecture notes (pdf file) and the answer keys to selected exercises of this lecture notes 205c answer key (pdf file)

Homework.
I would assign exercises in the lecture notes as homework. The course grade is assigned by homework performance (if you want  A, you need to do a lot without much mistake); so, no final exam is planned. In any case,  homework is assigned to enhance your understanding of the material; so, I suggest you to do all for yourself.
