Problem session: Th 6:00pm-7:00pm in Eckhart 308.

Textbook: Paul J. Sally, Jr., Tools of the Trade: Introduction to Advanced Mathematics, American Mathematical Society, 2008.

Exams: Two in-class midterms. Two-hour final.
Bring student ID to both midterms and the final. There will be no make-up exams.
No calculators, notes, or books will be permitted in any exam.

First midterm: on Friday, April 24th, in class.

Second midterm: on Friday, May 22nd, in class.

Homework: There will be weekly homework. It is due on Mondays, in class. Further information is given below.

• No late homework will be accepted.
• The TA will grade all problems each out of ten points.
• Write your name at the top of the first page.
• Staple your pages!
• The weakest homework score will be omitted.

Grading: Homework 20%; Each midterm 20%; Final 40%.
