Math 33B, Lecture 3, Fall 2007

Fri Dec 7 2007:
The final exam will be next Tuesday, Dec 11, from 3 to 6 PM, in MS 5137 (our usual class room). Here is a review sheet that covers the new material since midterm 2, but please realize that the final is cumulative, so really the review sheet should be this new one plus the previous two. As usual, the exam will be closed-notes, and no calculators will be allowed. Just bring something to write with.

I will hold office hours on Monday from 4:00 - 6:00 in case anyone has last minute questions. I will be available most of the day Monday (except from noon to 3) and probably also Tuesday morning. So if you can't make it on Monday between 4 and 6, email me to tell me what other time you'd prefer, and I can probably be there.

Good luck with all your exams!
Sun Nov 25 2007:
My Monday office hours (from 10:30 to 11:30) will be cancelled this week, due to a doctor's appointment. To make up for this, I will extend my Thursday office hours this week to be from 3:00 to 5:00.
Sat Nov 10 2007:
Midterm 2 will be next Friday, Nov 16, in Boelter 5420. The midterm will cover sections 4.4 through 4.7 and 9.1 through 9.2 in your book. Here is a review sheet that briefly covers all of the topics you are expected to know. Note: There are lots and lots of formulas on this review sheet for all the special cases of harmonic motion. I do not expect you to memorize these formulas (in fact, that won't really help you since they contain constants that I did not write out explicit formulas for.) Rather, I want you to understand the behavior of the solutions in each of these cases.
Mon Oct 22 2007:
Midterm 1 will be this Wednesday, Oct 24, in Boelter 5440. The midterm will cover chapter 2, and sections 1 and 3 of chapter 4. Here is a review sheet that briefly covers all of the topics you are expected to know.

Matthew will be holding a review session Tuesday, Oct 23 from 4 - 6 PM in MS 7608. I will hold extra office hours earlier that day from noon to 2 PM. Also, if you want to get back homework 3, you can pick it up at either of those times.
