Research

My research is in the field of algebraic topology, specifically homotopy theory and equivariant algebra. As a graduate student I worked on power operations in Adams-like spectral sequences as well as the algebra of Green and Tambara functors, which are equivariant analogs of rings. For more details see my research statement.

Algebraically Closed Fields in Equivariant Algebra

[arxiv] [pdf]

With Ben Spitz and Noah Wisdom. We show that the Nullstellensatzian (a generalization of algebraically closed) Tambara functors are precisely those coinduced from ordinary algebraically closed fields.

Triangulations of simplices with vanishing local h-polynomial

[arxiv] [pdf]

With André de Moura, Elijah Gunther, Sam Payne, and Alan Stapledon. Accepted for publication in Algebraic Combinatorics. From an undergraduate summer research project. We studied triangulations of simplices for which Richard Stanley’s local hh-polynomial vanishes, and gave a recursive enumeration of all such subdivisions of the 3-simplex, Δ3.\Delta^3.
