UCLA Logic Center
The UCLA Logic Center was established in the
Fall of 2004, by a generous anonymous donation. Its purpose is to
foster teaching and research in logic, broadly understood to
include all areas of mathematical and philosophical logic as well
as the applications of logic to philosophy, linguistics, and
computer science. It provides support for graduate students,
faculty, and visitors, and it organizes scientific meetings, in
association with other groups at UCLA and in the greater Southern
California area.
The faculty affiliated with the Logic Center includes members
of the UCLA Departments of Mathematics, Philosophy, and
Linguistics, as well as logicians from Caltech, UC Irvine, and the
University of Southern California.
For information about the UCLA Logic Center, contact its Director, Itay Neeman, ineeman@math.ucla.edu.
A very informal gathering of logicians will be held at
UCLA from Friday, February 1 to Sunday, February 3,
2013. This is the seventeenth in a series of meetings which
have been held every two or three years at UCLA since 1975.
The lecturers are Clinton Conley, Adam Day, Vince
Guingona, Peter Koellner, Antonina Kolokolova, Chris Miller,
and Slawek Solecki, who will give the inaugural Hjorth
Lecture on Saturday afternoon.
The program for the meeting and additional information will
be posted here by November 1. All are welcome to come, there are
no registration fees, and there is some financial assistance
for graduate students and recent Ph.D.'s; if you are
interested in applying for this, send a message to Itay Neeman.
