UCLA Math PhD student Shyr-Shea Chang is one of 150 Taiwanese nationals to be awarded a fellowship from the Taiwanese Department of Education. The Taiwanese Government Scholarship to Study Abroad (GSSA) is awarded yearly to Taiwanese students who study abroad for a PhD degree.

UCLA Math PIC Assistant Adjunct Professor Omri Azencot was granted a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions Individual Fellowship (IF) as part of the European Union Framework for Research and Innovation, Horizon 2020. Omri will work on geometry processing related problems in collaboration with Prof. Andrea Bertozzi.

UCLA Math professor Andrea Bertozzi was elected into the National Academy of Sciences in recognition of her "distinguishing and continuing achievements in original research." Membership in the academy is one of the highest honors that a U.S. scientist can receive.
