Content

The course will be an introduction to forcing.

Prerequisite

The official prerequisite is Mathematics 220ABC. What is actually needed is familiarity with elementary set theory based on the first-order ZFC axioms. This includes familiarity with such concepts as transitive sets, cardinal and ordinal numbers, the rank hierarchy, and transfinite recursion.
