UCLA PhD student wins French Chateaubriand Fellowship to study in Grenoble

UCLA PhD student Geoffrey Iyer has been awarded a Chateaubriand Fellowship, totalling over $10,000, from the French Office of Science and Technology, to carry out his final year of the PhD studies in Grenoble France in the GIPSA Lab supervised by Prof. Jocelyn Chanussot, starting in Sept 2017. The Chateaubriand Fellowship is a grant offered by the Embassy of France in the United States. Professor Bertozzi named Math+X Investigator by Simons Foundation

Professor Andrea Bertozzi has been appointed as a Math+X Investigator by the Simons Foundation, which recognizes research collaboration between mathematics and the California NanoSystems Institute.  As an Investigator, Bertozzi will receive significant research support of $1.5 million for an initial period of five years beginning July 1, 2017.
