Announcements
- Dec 6 -
My review session for the 3C final exam will be on Monday at 7:30 PM in
Boelter 5440. I will hold office hours for my 3C students on Monday and Tuesday
from 1:30 to 3:30.
My review session for the 32A final exam will be on Tuesday at 6:30 PM in
Boelter 5440. I will hold office hours for my 32A students on Wednesday from
1:30 to 3:30 and Thursday from 1:00 to 3:00.
- Nov 18 -
My review session for the 32A midterm this week
will be on Thursday at 5:00 PM in Boelter 5436. I have the room reserved from 5
until 7, so you can stay for as much or as little of that time as you like. My
office hours for the rest of this week will be as usual, except that on Friday
they will be from 10 until about 10:45.
- Nov 16 -
For Math 495, I have created in LaTeX a
midterm for Math 32A, mimicking the one posted on the Math 495 web page. The
LaTeX source is here, and the PDF file is
here. For my Math 32A students, you might
consider taking a look at this test, to see if you could do these problems.
But please note that this is probably not a realistic representation of
the type of problems that would appear on a test for our class. This test was
created by a different professor.
- Nov 5 -
Although I will NOT be holding extra
office hours this week (except with individual students, by appointment, when I
can find the time) I will be holding a review session on Thursday (Nov 6.) The
review session will be in Boelter 3400, starting at 6:00 PM. It's a large room,
so anyone from any 3C sections should feel free to attend. I have the room
reserved until 9:00, so we can stay there as long as people have questions. But
basically, you can leave whenever you're satisfied. Good luck with
your studying!
- Nov 5 -
For my 32a students, here is a complete
solution to problem 27 from section
2.5. (I sent this out in an email on Nov 2, so many of you should have already
gotten it.) Note that you will need
Adobe Acrobat
Reader or equivalent to view this file.

- Oct 22 -
I will be giving a review session for Math
32A this Thursday (Oct. 23) from 5:00 to 7:00 PM in Young 2200. (Young Hall is
one of the biology buildings, right across from the Math Sciences building.) You
are welcome to show up for any or all of the review session, and it's fine with
me if students from other sections want to come too. Please come prepared to ask
questions, and I will come prepared to answer them. Remember, this will be just
about the last chance you'll get to talk to me before the exam. Good luck with
your studying!
- Oct 15 -
To help my Math 3C students prepare for their
exam this Friday, I will be holding extra office hours this week. My office hours
for Wednesday will be as usual, plus I will be available from 4:30 to 6:00 pm. On
Thursday, I will be available from noon to 1:00 and from 3:00 to 6:00 pm. And on
Friday morning, I will be available from 10:00 to noon. If you need any help with
the test material, please feel free to come see me during those hours. Good
luck with your studying!
