You may submit a solution in one of the following ways:
- Submit your solution electronically to problems@math.ucla.edu as
an e-mail attachment (PDF file preferred). Please also write your
name, year and major or
- Turn in a solution to Olga Radko's mailbox (math. dept.
mailroom)
and immediately send an e-mail to problems@math.ucla.edu
stating your
name, year and major. The time of your e-mail will be used to
determine the
winner in case several correct solutions are received. Please do
not send the e-mail before
turning in the solution, as this will result in disqualification.
Solutions are due at noon on Friday; late solutions will not
be
accepted. All submissions will be reviewed and a winner will be
selected over the weekend. A correct solution and the winner's
name will then be posted on the web page.
Solutions should be complete and
sufficient explanation and reasoning should be provided.
Please note: The e-mail address problems@math.ucla.edu
has been having problems for the last month.
These now appear to have been resolved.
I have only received some of the messages from the last month
today (Feb. 3rd). The list of winners has been updated to reflect
past winners whose solutions were not received on time because of
these technical problems.
