Title: Rational points on cubic hypersurfaces

Speaker: Roger Heath-Brown, University of Oxford

Abstract:
The talk will begin with a light-hearted look at the importance of cubic hypersurfaces, before examining what is known and conjectured about rational points. This will lead to an overview of a new general theorem stating that any projective cubic hypersurface of dimension at least 12, defined over the rationals, has at least one rational point.
