Student Resources
Math Resources
- Free help: Students can visit the Schedule of Open Office Hours for free math help Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm.
- Tutoring: Students looking for additional help can contact a Graduate Student tutor here. Email a tutor for pricing. Note that TAs cannot tutor their current students.
- Representation and community: Many university math programs have failed to adequately recruit and support women, BIPOC students, and students from other underrepresented groups. I encourage you to visit the Math Alliance, the Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics & Native Americans in Science (SACNAS), Enhancing Diversity in Graduate Education (EDGE), and the Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM).
Mental Health and Accessibility
- CAPS, UCLA's Center for Counseling and Psychological Services, helps students access mental health support on and off campus.
- The Center for Accessible Education facilitates accomodations for disabled students.
Complaints, Reporting, and Confidential Services
- If you are a math student and you have academic concerns about a course or an instructor, you can contact the Undergraduate Vice Chairs Mike Hill and Don Blasius .
- The Ombuds Office is a confidential resource for student complaints and informal conflict resolution.
- The CARES Program is a confidential resource for survivors of sexual harassment and violence.
- The Title IX Office helps students who wish to report an incident of gender-based discrimination, sexual harrassment, or sexual violence.
