For those on the waiting list: the class size limit will remain 180. Some people inevitably drop out during the first week, so that is your best hope.

Instructor Information

Grading system

25% for each of two hour exams, 40% for the final, and 10% for the assignments

Examinations

Hour Exams: Monday Oct 30, Monday Nov 27
Xerox your assignments if there is a chance you won't get them back before an exam.
No calculators, notes, palm pilots, cell phones, etc. allowed during the exam. We will supply the paper and scratch paper.
ALWAYS BRING ID CARD
There will be no makeup exams. If you have an excused absence from an hour exam, your grade will be based on your other exams.
We will probably use assigned seating for the exam. Come a few minutes early so that you can find your seat.

Homework

All homework is to be handed in to me, in class, on Fridays, unless otherwise indicated.
No late homework will be accepted under any circumstances.
Your lowest two homework scores will be ignored.
Put your section letter on the first page of your assignment and fold the assigment vertically.
Homework will be graded on the following system

Etiquette
There will be approximately 180 people in the class. It follows that we must make every effort not to distract other students in the class.

Do not talk in lecture. Turn your cell phones off and don't use your computers.
Do not leave early or come late. If you think you might have to leave for extraordinary reasons, sit near the door.
