Announcements for Midterm Exam

The midterm will be Friday, February 15, as previously announced.

We'll be in a different room: Boelter 2444, which is in the southeast corner of the building on the second floor.

Conditions:

50 minutes long, 50 points

Closed book.

Calculators permitted, but for answers involving $ \pi$, $ \sqrt 3$, etc., please leave them in symbolic form.

Bring a ruler if you wish, to help in analyzing pictures.



Format of exam:

Five problems, each for 10 points. One will consist of several short-answer parts. No bluebooks needed.



Coverage:

Lectures through Friday, February 8 (but not anything involving curves and surfaces, even if those are mentioned).

Homework through Assignment #5.

Material from handouts: whatever topics were mentioned in lectures and homework problems. You should be able to identify the kind of projection (including subtypes as discussed in lecture) used to make a given picture.

Reading from text: None officially, but you can use the text for comparison with lectures.



Review:

In class as part of lecture on Wednesday, February 13.
