The Mathematics of Computer Graphics

Some topics:

Affine and projective transformations of objects; kinds of projections from 3-d to 2-d; curves and surfaces in computer graphics; related topics.

Nature of the course:

There will be some lab work, but this is a mathematics course and the main emphasis is on the mathematics needed to do computer graphics. Much of the material is applied linear algebra.

Prerequisites:

  • Math 115A (or the equivalent) with a grade of at least B-;
  • PIC 10A or equivalent knowledge of PASCAL, C, C++, or FORTRAN
