For a general list of errata for the text book, go here.
- Page 131, second to last row: ... The velocity vector is (e^t, -e^t, -sin t), where the negative sign is missing in the second component.
- Page 144, In Exercise 27,
should be d / dx.
- Oct 30th Solutions to Midterm 1 can be downloaded from the exams page.
- Oct 30th To answer the often occurring question, what the curve on the exam, homework or final grade is:
In this class ROUGHLY the top 25% of students get an A, the next 35% a B, the next 30% a C, the next 5% and D and the remaining 5% an F. This does not include the +- scale yet, which exists. So you only get a rough idea of what their first midterm translates to.
You can look up your grades on your my.ucla page. There should be a link. Once you see your exam score (or homework score), you can click on that, to see the statistics for the exam, homework or final grade as well as your placement in the class. For example:
Your Class Rank for this item: 103 / 129
which puts you in the 80% tile of the class (counted from best=0% tile to worst 100%-tile), which would translate into a C ROUGHLY.- Oct 30th The results of midterm one are available through your my.ucla account.
