Exams

Final Exam on Thursday, 13th of December 2007 at 8am-11am in Boelter 2760.

• Find a previously given final exam for Math 170A under Spring 06.

• You must bring a picture ID to the exam. No notes are allowed during exam.

• Material covered on the final exam: all sections from the reading assignments page.

• My office hours during exam week will be T 10:30-12.

Midterm Two on Friday, 16th of November 2007 at 11:00am-11:50am in PUB AFF 2214

• You must bring a picture ID to the exams. Nonprogrammable calculators may be used but no programmable ones or computers, or notes, or books are allowed during exams.

Midterm One on Friday, 26th of October 2007 at 11:00am-11:50am in PUB AFF 2214

• You must bring a picture ID to the exams. No calculators, computers, or notes are allowed during exams.

• Material covered on the midterm one: Up to (7) Theroem in 4.3 on page 123.

• Additional office hours during exam week will be
  • Tuesday, 23rd of October, 2007, at 11am
  • Wedensday, 24th of October, 2007 at 9am

• Find previously given midterms for
  • Math 170A under
    • Spring 06 and solutions
    • Spring 02 and solutions. Note, here that I gave one midterm only, and that one later in the quarter, hence the students had already more material. It should be a good check for your self which of the problem(s) you cannot solve yet with the material covered thus far.
  • Math 3C (Probability for Life Science Students) under
    • Fall 06 and solutions
    • Spring 06 and solutions
    • Winter 06 and solutions
    • Spring 05 and solutions.
    Note that this is a lower division course, so you should expect a somewhat higher level for 170A, but the above may help to at least check that you can do the 'simple' problems.

• Any regrading requests (see syllabus for details) can be made until Friday, 2nd of November and no later.

• The rules for regrades are as follows:
  1. Recall: Before exams are returned, I will take a random selection of exams to be copied. So when you come back for a regrade, make sure you know what you added later on to the exam and what was originally there.

  2. Any regrading request has to be submitted in writing to me, Andrea Brose. No more than two sentences are accepted.

  3. Accepted regrading request include cases, where you believe that the points got added up incorrectly, or where you believe we missed grading a part of your work.

  4. Regrading requests, such as "I deserve more partial credit" are not accepted, as all exams have been graded consistently.

  5. Be aware that a regrade means that your exam will be regraded from scratch, and it is possible that you will receive a lower score than originally given, if I decide that the original grade was too high.
