Actuarial Colloquium on 5/23/19

 

The Math department will be hosting an Actuarial Colloquium on Thursday, May 23, 2019 from 4pm-6pm in MS 6627.

Description:

The actuarial profession is a relevant career option for students of mathematics. In this colloquium, we will discuss how to become an actuary, what  an actuary does on the job, and career paths in this profession. In addition, we will discuss a specific area of practice, namely "pet health actuarial" work.  Pricing of pet insurance and other actuarial responsibilities will be discussed.

Join us for a great opportunity hosted by the International Student Ambassadors to meet employers who are interested in hiring international students from UCLA.

WPS Fall Poster Fair

WPS is hosting a Fall Poster Fair November 26th, from 4-6 PM on the second floor of PAB (Physics and Astronomy building). The presenters will primarily be undergraduate students who are currently involved in research at UCLA, so this is a great chance to learn about research being done by your peers. Graduate students and faculty will be there as well to provide feedback and learn about the awesome research. Refreshments will be provided!

UCLA Basic Needs Competition and Resources

The Community Programs Office's Food Justice Program will be offering 350 turkey holiday food boxes for students who will experience hardship during the Thanksgiving Day holiday. The boxes will include: one 14-16 pound turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, cranberry sauce, rolls, pecan pie, and pumpkin pie.Come and join us for the Turkey Holiday Box Giveaway.
