Math 176: General Course Outline
176. Speech Communication for Actuarial Students . Seminar, two hours. Enforced requisite: Math 175 and comfortable using Microsoft PowerPoint or alternative slide/graphics software. Enrollment priority to departmental majors. This course is designed to strengthen technical communication skills. It will focus upon principles and practice of oral communication for actuarial students, including persuasive speaking, group presentation, self-presentation and managing behavioral questioning. Format will include interactive seminars/lectures, video examples, multiple practice presentations and peer feedback. P/NP grading only.
