172B. Actuarial Models I. (4) Lecture, four hours. Requisites: courses 170A and 170B (or Statistics 100A and 100B), 175. Designed to prepare students for Society of Actuaries Models for Life Contingencies examination. Provides understanding of theoretical basis of certain actuarial models and application of those models to insurance, pensions, and other financial risks. Letter grading.
