applications for the Sixth Annual Outreach Conference to Increase Diversity in Mathematical Modeling & Public Health. The Conference will take place November 6-7, 2017 at Harvard University in Boston, MA. You are receiving this e-mail as someone who works with undergraduate students in the sciences.

This conference is for undergraduate students from underrepresented groups** who are interested in public health and mathematical modeling for infectious disease. During the 1.5 day conference at Harvard, students listen to scientific talks from researchers and graduate students, interact in professional development and networking sessions, and engage in a hands on modeling activity.

If accepted to the conference, registration is free. For students not local to Boston, we offer travel scholarships that cover transportation (airfare or bus fare) and hotel costs.


To apply, students must complete the online application and upload the required materials:

  2. Personal statement (1-2 pages)
  3. Post-secondary academic transcript(s)
  4. Verification of eligibility form
