Please see attachment for more information.

I'm writing to inform you about our upcoming Kurnitz Creative Writing Award, a great scholarship opportunity for UCLA international students enrolled in your department to gain recognition for their mastery of the English language. An UCLA tradition for over 40 years, the award seeks to reward non-native English speakers for their ability to showcase their creativity  writing skills. Three cash prizes will be awarded, including a $2,500 grand prize, so we want to extend this opportunity to as many participants as possible!

*Please note that AB540 and UCLA Extension students are not eligible to participate in the contest as per the endowment's guidelines.

If you believe that this award would be of  interest to your students, we would like for you to share our blurb below through your weekly emails. Applications are due on Friday, March 11 and we will be hosting a couple of workshops throughout Winter quarter to help participants as they develop their ideas. I am attaching our flyer to this email so that it can be distributed to your students as well. You may also go to our website at http://www.internationalcenter.ucla.edu/home/Kurnitz/35/123/intro to get more information regarding eligibility and competition rules and requirements. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.

All the best,

Mishna
