Grand Challenges Undergraduate Research Scholars Program - Opportunity for Sophomores

Sunday, April 17, 2016

The Grand Challenges Undergraduate Research Scholars Program is an exciting unique opportunity to engage undergraduates in the Grand Challenge “A Sustainable Los Angeles”, the goal of which is to reach 100% local water resources and 100% renewable energy while protecting ecosystem health by 2050.

I am reaching out to you because each year we are looking for students to apply for this very unique program where students work in interdisciplinary teams to solve complex problems related to the environment.  All that is required is that you are in your 2nd or 3rd year and are interested in research and the environment. Once accepted, you are matched with a Grand Challenges faculty to do a year-long research project and take a companion class that involves a group project to create change related to sustainability.

The online application is open from March 11 to April 17, 2016. Find the link at https://vcr.ucla.edu/GC/URSP. Feel free to contact gcursp@college.ucla.edu  with any questions.
