The Lupus Foundation of America annually awards 6 summer fellowships to students who will carry out biomedical research related to lupus. The aim of the program is to foster an interest among young researchers in lupus. The Lupus Foundation of America is a national organization intended to solve the mystery of lupus through research, education, and advocacy. Research is conduced under the supervision of an established investigator that the student is responsible of finding. Projects may be basic, clinical, or psychosocial research and must be related to the causes, treatments, prevention, or cure of lupus. Fellows will also get an opportunity to develop their career through mentorship and training. They will gain lifetime professional association with LFA network, which includes resources like being able to join the Alumni LinkedIn group.
