· Community Service Commission (CSC) is so excited to host our annual Day of Service event, Saturday, November 2nd! The event will take place from 8am-4pm and we will be meeting at the Pauley Pavilion Clubhouse.
· Volunteer with either the LA Community Action Network or the Santa Monica Adult Rehabilitation Center (a branch of the Salvation Army), two organizations that will be providing unique opportunities to engage directly with the communities you will be serving. Most service is done somewhat indirectly, so we hope you take advantage of this and see exactly what your efforts are accomplishing!
· Or stay on campus and participate in workshops to learn more about ethical service and building lasting service relationships:
o Workshop 1: Guided Meditation and Self-Reflection Practices
o Workshop 2: A Presentation on Ethical and Responsible Service
o Workshop 3: Letter Writing and Art Making (projects that will be donated to the organizations and communities that we work with for this event)
· Connect with fellow students who share the same passion about helping not only the UCLA community, but also the larger Los Angeles community. Also, get free breakfast, lunch, snacks, and CSC merch for participating. We hope volunteers learn more about meaningful service and what you can do in your community to truly make a lasting impact!
