16W 195CE internship courses NOW ENROLLING

The Center for Community Learning is now enrolling juniors and seniors for 195CE internship courses. Intake appointments will be available until Friday December 11 and again from January 4-15—or until courses fill.  Students typically work 8-10 hours per week at an approved off-campus organization (corporate, non-profit, or government agency). Students earn academic credit by applying their academic skills to analyze their work in the community through specially tailored writing assignments and meetings with graduate student coordinators.  The following courses are offered in this quarter—and bolded courses are open to students in ANY major:


Ÿ  English (4 units; Letter Grade or Pass/No Pass) – open to any major/minor

Ÿ   History (4 units; Letter Grade or Pass/No Pass) – open to any major/minor

Ÿ   Political Science (4 units; Letter Grade or Pass/No Pass) – open to any major/minor

Ÿ   Sociology (4 units; Letter Grade or Pass/No Pass) – open to any major/minor

Ÿ   M195CE (4 units; Letter Grade or Pass/No Pass) – multi-listed course exploring the intersection of class, gender, indigineity, race, and sexuality – students enroll under one of the following subject areas: American Indian Studies, African American Studies, Asian American Studies, Chicana/o Studies, or Gender Studies

Ÿ   Disability Studies (4 units; Letter Grade) – priority for disability studies minors

Ÿ   Society & Genetics (4 units; Letter Grade) – open to Human Biology and Society majors only

Ÿ   Civic Engagement (4 units; Letter Grade) – open to Civic Engagement Minors & Astin Scholars only


Eligibility Requirements: Students must have junior standing (at least 90 units completed) and must be in good academic standing with a 3.0 GPA.
