The UCLA Department of Economics is pleased to announce the second year of the Department of Economics Board of Visitors Research Fellows Program. The Research Fellows program is modeled after our popular Sharpe Fellows Program and will support talented undergraduates interested in economic research. Selected Fellows will work side-by-side with a faculty member on the professor’s research team, and will receive a stipend of $2500 per quarter (up to a maximum of three quarters), professional development training, and the opportunity to present their findings at an event in June 2018.
If selected for the program, students will be responsible for reaching out to faculty members of their choosing and securing a position. In addition, the economics faculty will be given the resumes of selected students and may themselves initiate the contact. The specific research responsibilities of the will be dependent on what the faculty member needs, but an ideal Research Fellows would be communicative, curious, and hard-working.
