Credit Suisse/BAM 2016 IB Case Competition, Tuesday, April 5th, 6:00 - 8:00 pm
Interested in investment banking? Want to get some real, hands-on experience in the field? Bruin Asset Management has partnered with Credit Suisse to host UCLA's second annual leveraged buyout investment banking case competition. During this case, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience evaluating businesses, creating financial models and thinking strategically about investments.

Participants will learn the basics of LBO modeling, leveraged finance and the debt markets. Teams of four are requested. Team members must be graduating in July of 2017 or later. Finalists will be invited to the Credit Suisse Los Angeles office to present in front of professionals from the firm.

BlackRock Business Development Analyst, ASAP
BlackRock's Institutional Business Development team is looking for a full-time analyst starting in August 2016. The team primarily covers mega pension plans ($10B+). The role will be focused on client service, strategy, project management, and capital markets vs. prospecting/hard sales given the client type. Analysts will get exposure to the entire BlackRock investment platform. This position is opened up off-cycle and the procedures are likely to move faster. It is a great opportunity for candidates willing to join the industry.

The intern should possess intellectual curiosity, strong research skills, ability to see the big picture, strategic thinking, active listening skills, ability to communicate clearly, strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

The Art of the TV Pitch Course, Sunday, April 10, 5pm

The UCLA Department of Communication Studies and Partnership UCLA is pleased to help support your professional development through the course offering "The Art of the TV Pitch." This will be a crash course in the development and sale of a television concept. From finding the initial idea, to fleshing out the characters and story arcs, to packaging the project with other talent, to the actual pitching at a studio and/or network.

The course will be taught by Jackie de Crinis, Executive Vice President of Original Programming at USA Network, and Andrew Lenchewski, Writer, Producer, and creator of Royal Pains. Students will hear from various industry professionals, who will share their insights on what makes a pitch compelling and salable. Students will also be divided into groups, and tasked with developing their own pitch, getting feedback from the instructors along the way.
