The Student Accounting Society is hosting its largest annual networking event, Meet the Firms, with over 20 companies in attendance. This is an opportunity for students to learn more about the accounting profession while exploring leadership programs and internship opportunities. All accounting firms present will be targeting second year students for their summer leadership programs. Although internship and full-time recruiting primarily occurs during Fall quarter, third and fourth year students are encouraged to attend as some firms are still looking to fill positions.

2. Economic Analysis Group, Antitrust Division Job Opportunities

The Economic Analysis Group of the Antitrust Division, U.S. Department of Justice, has openings for full-time economic research analysts in Washington, DC.  We are looking for detail-oriented highly motivated individuals interested in economics or math that have recently graduated or expect to graduate soon. 


A grade point average of 3.0 or better and U.S. citizenship are required.  Submit a resume, a short writing sample on an economic topic, names of three references, and a copy of your college transcript, via e-mail to: U.S Department of Justice, Antitrust Division by January 29, 2016.

 3. Research Associate Opportunity - Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City

The Economic Research Department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City is recruiting for the position of Research Associate. This is an excellent position for someone considering a Ph.D. in economics. Research Associates develop technical skills and are exposed to a broad range of economic research topics.


Required Education and Skills:

•Bachelor’s or master’s degree in economics or a closely related field, such as statistics, computer

science, or mathematics.

• Coursework or experience in econometrics, math, statistics, statistical software packages, and

macroeconomic modeling is highly desirable.

• Strong academic record.

• High proficiency with personal computers and spreadsheet software.

• Excellent communication skills.

This position is ideal for exceptional graduating seniors with a strong interest in pursuing a Ph.D. in Economics after acquiring one or two years of research experience.

Essential Qualifications: Minimum BA/BS degree in Economics or Math; Excellent analytical, empirical, research and writing skills; Knowledge of statistics/econometrics; Knowledge of statistical programming, particularly STATA; Knowledge of mathematical modeling tools such as Matlab is a plus, Knowledge of standard internet tools and HTML is desirable; Familiarity with standard social science and/or macro-finance related data sources is desirable.

9. Columbia Business School Summer Research Internship Program 2016


Columbia Business School is seeking outstanding applications for the 2016 Summer Research Internship program.  The highly selective program provides an intellectually stimulating environment and exposes the students to the world of business research.  Several of the top interns have gone on to leading MS and PhD programs in Economics, Finance, Computer Science, and Data Sciences.  Many been selected to join CBS full-time as a full-time Research Associate.

Under the guidance of Columbia Business School’s leading faculty, interns will take an active role on a research project in one of the following areas:  finance, economics, marketing, management, decision sciences, operations, accounting, and data analytics.

The internship program is designed for undergraduate students in their sophomore or junior year and first year Masters students.  Exceptional students from other classes are considered on a case-by-case basis.

The program runs from May 29, 2016 – August 6, 2016.  On-campus housing and a stipend will be provided.
