Professor Stan Osher surpasses 100,000 citations

According to Google Scholar Citations public profile, Professor Stan Osher has been cited a total of 100,231 times since 1989, with an h-index of 108. The h-index is an author-level metric that measures both the productivity and citation impact of the publications of a scientist or scholar.

The August 2017 Webometrics Ranking of World Universities by Cybermetrics Lab shows that among all the most highly cited authors in history (h-index of 100 or more), less than 1,000 have achieved 100,000 citations. Closer to home, the report also puts Professor Osher as the 2nd most highly cited researcher in the history of UCLA , led by psychometrics pioneer Peter M Bentler (189,000) and followed by medical imaging pioneer Michael Phelps at 96,000 citations.
