I was born in Bern, Switzerland, in 1983. I received the M.Sc. degree in electrical and electronics engineering and the Ph.D. degree from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) , Lausanne, Switzerland, in 2006 and 2011, respectively. I am currently a Post-Doctoral Scholar with the Department of Mathematics , University of California, Los Angeles , with Luminita Vese , Stan Osher and Andrea Bertozzi . My current research interests include partial differential equations and variational models for inverse problems in image processing and computer vision, and efficient algorithms to solve them.
