2009 September Learning HTML and CSS to make this website. Usually, LaTeX is my markup language of choice, but when it comes to websites HTML is king. I found this website to be a good starting point for HTML and CSS. I also took quite liberally from Kevin Lynagh's website.

2009 July-August Learning the PostScript language for generating graphics. I mostly used this beautiful book written by Bill Casselman.

2009 January-May Developing an appealing LaTeX template for my thesis. Since I am really picky about my typsetting, it was no small task. I am a firm believer that the only thing more important than a document's content is its typesetting. I ended up using the memoir class, as it is designed to be heavily customized.
