Our research group has a pyramid structure with tenured faculty supervising postdocs and graduate students, who in turn assist undergraduate student researchers. The UCLA graduate students are candidates for the PhD in applied mathematics. The undergraduate students worked on research projects during the summer as part of UCLA's Applied Math REU program or during the school year as independent study projects. Most undergraduate students are from UCLA, although some are from Harvey Mudd College or other universities.
