The LAMBDA Group
The Los Angeles Multi-Band Data Analysis (LAMBDA) Group is an academic research group based in the UCLA Department of Mathematics. The group focuses on applying mathematical knowledge of optimization, the calculus of variations, and PDEs to problems in geo-spatial image processing. There is a particular emphasis on the processing and analysis of hyperspectral imagery. The group involves researchers at all levels, from tenured faculty to undergraduate students. The research is supported by a grant from the Department of Defense.

Research Projects

  • Road Inpainting
  • Segmentation in Hyperspectral Imagery
  • Data Fusion
  • Multi-modal Image Registration
  • Spectral Unmixing
  • Optimization Techniques
