March 12 - Final exam review session:
Date: Friday, March 16, 2007
Time: 5:00 - ???
Place: Boelter 3400
As usual, if you can't show up at 5, feel free to come later. I plan to be
there until 8:00 or so. I'll probably start out by reviewing the recent
material on surface integrals, Stokes' Theorem, and the Divergence Theorem,
then review older material. Of course, I will work through several examples for
each topic, and I'll try to answer any and all questions that you have.
Good luck studying!

February 26 - The review session will be at 4:00
in Public Policy 2270. See below for details.

February 24 - The second midterm for Math 32B will be
this coming Wednesday. I will be holding a review session on Monday, Feb 26,
starting at 4:00 PM. The room will tentatively(*) be Public Policy 2270. I
have reserved the room for over 2 hours, so there should be plenty of time
to review the material and do plenty of examples. Of course, if you can't
make it at 4:00, or if you don't want to stay until it's over, you can come
and go when you like.
At the review, I plan to do a summary of the material that will be on the exam,
and a lot of examples. Since I've spent the last few weeks in section covering
mostly theory and doing very few examples, I'll probably spend a lot of time at
the review session working through examples and explaining how to actually do
problems. (There's a lot to be said about easy ways to parametrize curves, find
a scalar function whose gradient is a given vector function, etc.)
(*) I have not received confirmation on this room reservation, so there's a
slim chance that the room might change. If that happens, I'll send another
email on Monday morning and post a message on this web page. I'll probably also
leave a note on the door to Public Policy 2270, but you might want to check
your email or this web page at the last minute just in case.
