Course outline: We will follow the schedule found here with
the addition of two midterms, see below. This fills up the 28 hours
available.
Textbook: Single Variable Calculus by
Jon Rogawski.
Homework: Homework will be assigned on Fridays
and should be handed in during the first 10 minutes of lecture on the following Friday.
Late homework will not be accepted but the lowest two homework grades will be dropped.
You will find that working through all of the homework problems and handing them in on time is a very important part of keeping up with the course.
Students are encouraged to work together on the homeworks, but each student must submit their own work.
Exams and grading: There will be two midterms and one final.
The following grading scheme will be used:
- Homework: 15%
- The first midterm: 20%
- The second midterm: 20%
- The final: 45%
There will be no make up exams. You must make sure that you are able to take the exams when
they are scheduled:
- First midterm: Friday February 1 In class.
- Second midterm: Friday February 22 In class.
- Final exam: Thursday, March 20, 3-6 pm
You must consult this homepage again close to the exams as some students may be asked to take the exam in a differernt room.
Exams will be closed book, closed notes and calculators will not be permitted.
The final exam is mandatory. You can not complete the class if you miss it.
