Samuel N. Stechmann
I am a postdoc at UCLA studying applied math and atmospheric science.
I am supported by a
NOAA Climate and Global Change Postdoctoral Fellowship
and a
NSF Mathematical Sciences Postdoctoral Research Fellowship.
My postdoctoral mentors are
Bjorn Stevens,
David Neelin, and
Stan Osher.
Before coming to UCLA, I obtained my Ph.D. from the
Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences of
New York University.
My research there was also in applied math and atmospheric science
(there is a
Center for Atmosphere Ocean Science
within the Courant Institute.)
I was supported by a
DOE Computational Science Graduate Fellowship,
and my Ph.D. thesis advisor is
Andrew Majda.
Below are my CV and PDFs of my publications.
