Find parametric equations for the line of
intersection of the planes
z = x+y, 2x -5y -z = 1
Solution:
Any point that lies in both planes satisfies both equations. Thus
substituting the first in the second we
get 2x - 5y -x-y = 1. Solving for x,
we get x = 1+6y. Setting y = t we have the equation of the
