Math Circle People

 
Olga Radko is the director of LAMC. She received her Ph.D. in mathematics from UC Berkeley in 2002, and is currently an assistant adjunct professor at the UCLA department of Mathematics.  

Our docents 2009-2010:

Tammy Chang is a second year Electrical Engineering major. She is interested in a career in teaching. She is an AAP Peer Learning Facilitator and is also involved in the UCLA California Teach program. Shannon Rogers is a fourth-year undergraduate Mathematics major, with a specialization in Computing and an Education minor. She is working for Junior Circle this year.
Ritika Dusad is a second year undergraduate student majoring in Physics at UCLA. This is her first year with the Math circle. She is interested in discovering the truths of nature by using Physics and Mathematics. She enjoys working on calculus. She is working for Group A this year. Paul Bunn is a graduate student in the mathematics department at UCLA whose research focuses on number theory and cryptography. He enjoys spending time outdoors, talking with friends, and reading a good book. He is a docent for Group B this year.
Tim Austin is a fourth-year graduate student in the math department, working on analysis and probability theory. He is Group B's docent  this year. Aaditya Ramesh is a second year undergraduate student majoring in bioengineering. He participated in math competitions in high school, and he found it challenging and helpful in his other endeavors. He loves teaching little children math. Aaditya is a part of the Junior Circle team this year.
Carey Shenkman is a fifth year Mathematics major and Departmental Scholar, and a Global Studies minor. This is the third year Carey is involved in the Math Circle. He has a passion for all things international,  enjoys cooking, traveling, and playing the piano. Carey is the main instructor for the younger part of group A this year.  Mike Hall is a fourth year graduate student in the mathematics department at UCLA. This is the third year Carey is involved in the Math Circle. Mike is interested in analysis and partial differential equations. Mike is the main instructor for the older part of group A this year.

Our docents 2007-2008:

Marisa Eisenberg is a graduate student in Biomedical Engineering, developing math models of neuroendocrine regulation at the UCLA Biocybernetics Lab. She loves teaching, math, and puzzles of all kinds, and plans to pursue a career as a professor. Ekaterina Merkurjev is a second year Applied Mathematics major. She wants to study for a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics and to teach at a college or university level. She is an officer of the Undergraduate Math Students Association and a Pi Mu Epsilon Lead Coordinator.
Daria Merkurjev is a second-year Mathematics major, specializing in Biomathematics. She wants to study for a Ph.D. and continue on to cancer research and teaching at a college or university level. Heather Calahan is the Executive Director of the Curtis center for Mathematics and Teaching.
