Class description: This is an introductory class in game theory. The class starts with two-player gaems of perfect information without chance moves. Further topics include background probability theory, lotteries, mixed strategies, pure and mixed Nash equilibria and refinement.

Prerequisite: math 115a or equivalent (first part of undergraduate Linear Algebra).

Homework: The homework will be assigned weekly, and is an essential part of the class. Each week, several chosen problems will be graded, and in addition a  certain  score will be assigned for the completeness of the homework. Two lowest homework scores will be dropped in the computation of your grade.

Midterm: There will be one midterm, on November 8, during regular class hours.  Please, make sure that you have no time conflict on this date.
Unless you have a documented medical illness, there will be no make-up exam.

Quizzes: There will be several quizzes throughout the quarter. Quiz topics and dates will be announced in advance. One lowest quiz score will be dropped in the computation of your grade.


Grading policy:  Your grade will be computed as the best of the  following:

Homework (20%)+Quizzes(20%)+Midterm(25%)+Final(35%)

    or:

Homework (20%)+Quizzes(20%)+Midterm(30%)+Final(30%)
