Mathematics 3B, Section 1

The final exam for this class is on Friday March 21, 8-11 AM  (exam code 01). ATTENTION: The Final Exam is in room 100 MOORE!!!
(not in our usual classroom MS4000!)

The exam will cover everything we have done this quarter: in class, in the homework, and in the book. This means the following sections from the book:
6.1, 6.2, 6.3.1, 6.3.2, 6.3.3, 7.1, 7.2, 7.3, 7.4.1, 7.4.2, 8.1, 8.2.1, 9.4, 10.1, 10.2.1, 10.2.3, 10.3, 10.4.1, 10.5.3, 10.6.1 (pages 654-658 and 665-669).

For the homework, it means all problems assigned up to (and including) March 14.

The Final Exam will consist of 8 sets of exercises a), b), c), etc. Each set of exercises is worth 20 points (for a total number of 160 points).
The first 6 sets of exercises will require detailed work shown, the last two sets will consist of multiple choice questions. I remind you that the
Final Exam counts for 40% of your final score. The other 240 pts (60 %)  come from:
100 pts (or 25%) each Midterm Exam and 40 pts (or 10%) for the HW.

Ground rules for Final Exam: Paper will be provided. YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO REMOVE ANY PIECE OF PAPER
FROM YOUR EXAM !!!  No calculators. Closed book (no note cards). Please bring your photo ID to the test, as well as pencil and eraser.

The problems in the Final Exam will be mostly like the homework. ("Mostly" means mostly, and "like" means that I think similar methods are used.)

During exam week, I will have office hours as follows: Mo 03/17, We 03/19 and Th 03/20 from 9 to 10:30AM.
Also, on Wednesday March 19th I will have a Review Session in PAB 1425 (Physics&Astronomy) from 6-7pm.
