All exams are closed books. No calculators, cheat sheets, cell phones, web accessories, rulers, magic wands, etc. will be allowed on the exams. See here.

Grading: Home Assignments 20%, Midterms 20%+20%, Final 40%
The resulting numerical grade will be converted to a letter grade based on class ranking, according to departmental guidelines. Grades will be recorded using the MyUCLA gradebook.

Difficulty: This is designed to be a standard introductory course in Linear Algebra. Some familiarity with Calculus is assumed.

Homeworks

Home assignments will be posted on the class webpage, and will be collected Wednesdays in the beginning of a lecture. The lowest homework grade will be dropped. No late homework will be accepted. Requests for regrading must be made no later than 2 weeks after the home assignment is returned.

Study groups: I recommend forming 3-5 people study groups, but more than 5 people are not allowed in one group. You are allowed to discuss the problems together, but each must write her or his own solution. If you have a study group, you must write all members of the group on the top of the first page of the solutions to a homework.
