Exam rules: No make-up exams will be given. Requests for regrading must be made no later than 1 week after the midterm is returned. The final exam must be taken in order to receive a passing grade. All exams are closed books. No calculators, cheat sheets, cell phones, web accessories, rulers, magic wands, etc. will be allowed on the exams. See here.
Grading: Home Assignments 20%, Midterms 20%+20%, Final 40%
The resulting numerical grade will be converted to a letter grade based on class
ranking, according to departmental guidelines. Grades will be recorded using the
MyUCLA gradebook.
Difficulty: This is designed to be a standard introductory course in Linear Algebra. Some familiarity with Calculus is assumed.
Study groups: I recommend forming 3-5 people study groups, but more than 5 people are not allowed in one group. You are allowed to discuss the problems together, but each must write her or his own solution. If you have a study group, you must write all members of the group on the top of the first page of the solutions to a homework.
