TEXT: Essentials of Finite Mathematics by Robert and Brenda Brown ---This is available in your UCLA Bookstore.

You will meet with me on Monday , Wednesday and Friday from 12-12:50 pm in MS 5200 . You will also meet with your TA on Tuesday or Thursday from 12-12:50 pm according to this schedule:

Grading : You will have weekly homework assignments (usually due on Friday ), you will have quizzes in class on most Fridays. Most quizzes will be announced on the table below but it is possible that we will have a "pop" quiz. You will take two midterm exams and 1 final exam. Exam I will be on Monday April 30 and Exam II will be on Friday June 1 .
Your final grade will be computed like this:

HW Scores
10%
Quiz Scores
10%
EXAM I
20%
EXAM II
20%
Final Exam
40%
AT the end of the quarter, before  computing your grade, I will drop your TWO lowest homework scores and your lowest quiz score.
Make up quizzes and exams will never be given. If you miss a quiz for any reason you can simply count that as one quiz that you will drop. You are required to attend all discussion sections.
If you miss an exam for any reason, then I will compute your final grade like this :

Even if you take both midterms, I will use the grading scheme that gives you the higher final score
