Title: Split Selmer in the Reducible Case<br>

<p>Abstract: 

  <p>The main conjecture in classical Iwasawa theory 
  says that the characteristic ideals of certain 
  Selmer groups (related to class groups) are 
  gererated by  p-adic L-functions of Dirichlet 
  characters.

  <p>We'll use this and other facts to give a criterion 
  for the vanishing of the split Selmer group 
  (introduced in our talk of 4/9) attached to reducible 
  two-dimensional mod p Galois representations.
