Class Syllabus

Textbook: Stewart, Multivariable Calculus, 7th Edition.

Course material: We will cover Chapters 15 and 16 in the 7th Edition, which is Chapters 16 and 17 in the 6th Edition. Here is a link to the course outline.

Prerequisite: Math 31B,32A.

Homework: The homework is due every Tuesday in class (lecture). Graded homework will be returned to you in discussion section. Your lowest homework score will be dropped in the computation of your final grade. Late homework will not be accepted and there will be no make-up homework.

Midterms: There will be two midterms. Midterm 1 is on Tuesday, August 16th during the regular class hours. Midterm 2 is on Tuesday, August 30th during the regular class hours. Please make sure you have no time conflicts. There will be no make-up exams. However, if you miss a midterm, the missed midterm will not count but the remaining midterm and the final exam will count for more.

Final exam: The final is on Wednesday, September 7th in class. You must take the final in order to pass the class.

Grading: Your final class score will be computed as the maximum of the following:

15% Homework + 30% (best of two Midterms) + 55% Final
or
15% Homework + 20% Midterm 1 + 20% Midterm 2 + 45% Final
