Randomly filling a grid

In this HTML canvas experiment, I wanted to connect the dots of a grid with chains of horizontal and vertical line segments. These chains are essentially random, in terms of where they start, and how they develop. I didn't want overlaps, so once it becomes impossible for a chain to grow any more, it terminates, and a new chain starts from a random open grid point. This repeats until the entire grid is covered.
