The quizzes will be on the following days and will correspond to the indicated homework assignments.
The supplementary homework problems can be found on the textbook's website:
http://www.athenasc.com/prob-supp.html
There will be two mid-term exams, each held during normal class hours, and in the normal classroom unless otherwise indicated. You will be allowed to bring in one 3"x5" note card containing any notes that you want. This must be readable without supplemental magnification. All electronic devices (including calculators, but especially cell phones) must be OFF during all exams. Please bring your student ID with you to each exam.
Make-up exams and quizzes will not be given, and you must take the final exam in order to pass the class. However, the lowest quiz score will be dropped, and your final score will be the maximum of the following two scores:
If you have any complaints about grading, including improper recording of scores, you must bring your complaint to the attention of the instructor within 14 calendar days of the date the exam or quiz in question was taken, and before the final exam. Grading complaints not brought forward in this time frame will not be considered.
Grades will be viewable on MyUCLA.
We will roughly cover the schedule outlined here, with only minor modifications.
In particular, Section 1.6 will be presented between Sections 1.1 and 1.2.
