1B: Tues, Thurs 10:00-10:50 AM in Geology 4645
Announcements:
July 31: See here for a quick summary of Markov and Chebyshev.
July 27: See here for a writeup about the uniform and exponential continuous distributions.
July 26: See here for a writeup about the discrete distributions (and more) that we have learned about in class.
July 10: See here for a writeup of a couple independence examples as well as some examples about conditional probability.
July 2: See here for a writeup of a couple counting examples (including my challenge problem from last June 28). Note the final answer to part d) is on page 3!
June 26: For those of you who want to review some calculus that you will (most likely) need later in this course, sections 4.2-4.7, 5.1-5.2, 5.5, 6.2, 7.1, 7.2, and 7.4 should suffice. I would suggest looking at the following problems: 5.2: 18-20; 5.5: 51, 52, 57; 7.2: 49, 50; 7.4: 5-8. Note that these problems are not in any way mandatory, nor do I guarantee they cover everything we may use later in the course.
