Math 285 J: Numerical Methods for Elliptic Interface Problems MS 7608, MWF, 2-2:50 PM Professor: Joseph Teran Office: MS 7619E Office hours: WF, 3-4 Overview We will focus on techniques for computing the solution to elliptic equations with geometric complications including interfacial discontinuities and irregular domains. We will survey a number of techniques from the existing literature including some of my most recent work on this subject. These techniques have wide ranging applications including, computational fluid dynamics, computational solid mechanics and generally in the context of computational problems in irregular spatial domains or with multimaterials in contact. |
