Schedule of Lectures

Grading: Grades will be based on:

2 exams (total 40% - see below) + final exam (45%) + homework (15%)

The possible grades are A - F, with plusses and minuses in grades A, B, C. Grades A and B will be assigned in roughly the following percentages: 25% A's, 31% B's.

Exam II: Wednesday February 20  5:00 PM – 6:30 PM

·         Solutions to exams will be posted on the web page immediately following the exam.

·         No calculators, books, or notes are permitted in exams.

·         You must bring your student ID to all exams

HOMEWORK: There will 10 homework assignments, graded on a 10 point scale. Three problems (chosen by the instructor) will be graded for 2 points each, and 4 points will be given for completeness of your work. Each week you will turn in the HW assignments of the previous week to your TA, no later than Thursday at 5 PM. Example: HW 1 is due no later than Thursday (Jan. 17) of Week 2. HW must be handed to your TA during the TA Session or placed under his/her office door. No late HW will be accepted under any circumstances. HW must be stapled and clearly labeled with your name, ID, and TA session.
